a trip to the capitol

I've done a few photo projects at the CT Capitol building (here and here) and am set to do another! This time I will be exhibiting my fine art and portraiture thanks to my supportive mother-in-law, Denise. I had originally planned to have my work on exhibit all summer, but with half my portfolio in storage and living in a temporary location, I just couldn't find the motivation. I am excited though, that I was able to pass the opportunity on to my talented artist friend, Hannah, who will be exhibiting her beautiful abstract series while I get my act together. I can't wait to see her work up on the walls of the Capitol (stop by and check them out if you are in Hartford!).

Hannah and I took a quick, somewhat chaotic trip over to the Capitol on Friday to check out the space and give her kiddos a little tour of the building they adorably think is a castle….

These flags are from the civil war! Crazy!

Doing some very important work at the Secretary of State's desk.

I love seeing the photos people choose to put on their desks at work. Love the red bandana on my husband's 20-yr-old self and the fur hat on his brother.
